Blog with Integrity badge

By displaying the Blog with Integrity badge or signing the pledge,

I assert that the trust of my readers and the blogging community is important to me.

I treat others respectfully, attacking ideas and not people. I also welcome respectful disagreement with my own ideas.

I believe in intellectual property rights, providing links, citing sources, and crediting inspiration where appropriate.

I disclose my material relationships, policies and business practices. My readers will know the difference between editorial, advertorial, and advertising, should I choose to have it. If I do sponsored or paid posts, they are clearly marked.

When collaborating with marketers and PR professionals, I handle myself professionally and abide by basic journalistic standards.

I always present my honest opinions to the best of my ability.

I own my words. Even if I occasionally have to eat them.

  1. I love this post and wish I was reading more of this! I think what also needs to be considered that sometimes, and this happens with very simple ideas, we do not OWN the idea...I often see very classic patterns that have been around for years eg the a-line skirt, the "pillow case" or basic sundress, even the basic scarf - on blogs with threats about making such things because the blog author owns them....We need to exercise some realism here. Craft is to be shared not franchised. Yes integrity at all times.
    Thanks for this post!

  2. thanks for your comment :) I agree crafts are to be shared :) I would never "own" a pattern if I made it as I feel people should be able to make it and put there mark on it :)
