Autumn

Am I mistaken are we not in October? shouldn't we be well into Autumn? shouldn't I be crunching through the leaves of orange and gold,  as I walk the dogs? seems very late this year, I am still seeing swallows and butterflies!

Were in the middle of a huge house clear out, we keep reptiles and have quite a few empty Vivs so were sending them down to a friends farm to go in his barn, so everything is gettinga good tidy and de clutter! Just wish we could find a new house now, we really really need to move.

Sleep hath its own world, A boundary between the things misnamed Death and existence: Sleep hath its own world, And a wide realm of wild reality, And dreams in their development have breath, And tears and tortures, and the touch of joy. Lord Byron

Still raining!

The day is cold, and dark, and dreary;
It rains, and the wind is never weary;
The vine still clings to the moldering wall,
But at every gust the dead leaves fall,
And the day is dark and dreary.

My life is cold, and dark, and dreary;
It rains, and the wind is never weary;
My thoughts still cling to the moldering Past,
But the hopes of youth fall thick in the blast
And the days are dark and dreary.

Be still, sad heart! and cease repining;
Behind the clouds is the sun still shining;
Thy fate is the common fate of all,
Into each life some rain must fall,
Some days must be dark and dreary.

Still Raining here, think Henry Wadsworth Longfellow poem sums it up completely, I'm buried under my blanket knitting way, listening to the wind and rain outside, I wish I had a conservatory to hide in and listen to the rain landing on the glass, I find it very relaxing:)

Horrible rainy day

 This is My motto for today "Stay Calm"  I am a little bit frazzled around the edges, its also raining and bleak, looks like we have jumped straight into winter and missed Autumn, I hope we get a few nice days  Autumn is my favourite season of them all, picking berries making jams and sloe gins, rustling through the leaves falling, collecting conkers....
As Summer into Autumn slips
And yet we sooner say
"The Summer" than "the Autumn," lest
We turn the sun away,

And almost count it an Affront
The presence to concede
Of one however lovely, not
The one that we have loved --

So we evade the charge of Years
On one attempting shy
The Circumvention of the Shaft
Of Life's Declivity.
